Andrea and Devin

Click Here to view the Debut Trailer of the wedding day.

We started the day meeting Andrea and the girls at Eric Fisher Salon where they were getting their hair done. Once the girls were ready, they headed to the Grand Chapel to finish getting ready. We had a little bit of time to take pictures of Devin with his family and the guys and Andrea with her family and bridesmaids before the ceremony began. Andrea & Devin’s colors were burgandy and green with a wine theme, expressing their love for touring vineyards. The flowers were red roses and pink lilies done by Moore’s Flowers. Andrea’s bouquet included a small bunch of grapes and hydrangias.
As the wedding party entered the chapel and the ceremony began, Devin’s uncle played the harp. The couple had two touching readings including a poem titled “Why Marriage” and one from “The Velveteen Rabbit”. Once Andrea & Devin were pronounce Mr & Mrs, the guest exited the chapel and headed downstairs to the reception area while we finished up the pictures. Due to the heat & humidity, the couple chose not to go outside for pictures before heading downstairs where they were announced in by Andrea’s brother who is a DJ with AMM.
The reception area was decorated with wine bottles and grape centerpieces that Andrea & Devin have collected on their travels. Dinner was served by Corporate Caters and the delicious cake with a different flavor for every layer was made the The Eaton’s bakery. After dinner and slideshow, it was time for the dance to begin.
When one of the couple’s friends told them what a beautiful couple they made, Devin replied with one the sweetest comments by saying, “She makes me look good!” it was obvious that Devin’s statement came from his heart because he said it without hesitation. Andrea & Devin – it was such an honor to witness & document your day and love for each other. The quote on your program says it all, “Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust. Love still stands when all else has fallen” 1Corinthians 12:7-8 We don’t need to tell you to have a great time in Hawaii but, we do wish you both the endurance of love!
Congratulations again!

Jeff and I along with “The Cats” (Fat Cat Productions) were on the road to Colorado for a wedding this last Labor Day weekend. We had a blast! We all got to have the great opportunity to work with a sweet couple, Candace and Marcus. Being in a more foreign place we checked out the church, First Evangelical Lutheran, Friday during the rehearsal which was in Longmont, CO.

Saturday Stephanie with FCP, and I drove to Anthony’s Salon in Denver, CO where Candace and her six bridesmaids got their hair done. Then we went to the Chateaux At Fox Meadows in Broomfield, CO where the ladies met us, as well as the guys to finish getting ready. Barry with FCP, and Jeff documented the guys as they got ready while Stephanie and I were with the bridesmaids. The guys wore black tuxes with red ties. Candace’s colors’ were chosen to resemble fall which she definitely accomplished. The bridesmaids dresses were hand-stitched by the mother of the bride. This made it a little tricky when it came to sizing and fittings for most of the girls, as many lived out of state. They did all the fittings by mail and then mailed them back to finish up the last details of all the dresses. They were swirled stripes of red, tan and black. Candace handed gifts out to all the girls in the brides room which were heart shaped jewelry boxes with matching necklaces for the ladies to wear on the wedding day.

Candace’s dress was white with lots of beadwork and embroidery and a long train. Once Candace and her bridesmaids were all dressed and ready to go, the bridesmaids delivered a gift to Marcus waiting at the foot of the grand staircase. Inside of the gift there was an engagement photo of them together along with a CD player that all Marcus had to do was hit play and his beautiful bride started her way down the staircase. They both were filled with excitement and happy tears as this was the first they saw of each other on their special day.

After taking them around the Chateaux and getting some awesome shots and then doing some family shots it was time to make it back to the church in time for guests to start arriving for the ceremony. The pastor who performed the service was a roommate with Marcus while at KU. This made it extra special for the couple as he knew the couple on a different level other than just a pastor but as a friend to the family, too.

After the ceremony guests headed over to the Chateaux for Hor d’Oevres. Jeff and I finished with family pics at the front of the church before Candace and Marcus were chaperoned to the Chatueax in a 1930′s Model Ford. Candace and Marcus had timed it to where as soon as the guests finished Hor d’Oevres they were to go outside with noise shakers and wait for them to pull up out front on the circle drive of the Chateaux. They had a dove release as soon as they got out of the car where they each released one dove and kissed. Following that they released 12 more and then another 12 more in remembrance of guests who weren’t able to be there. It was the most gorgeous and elegant thing we have seen a bride and groom ever do. I had always heard of it but it just isn’t heard of doing much around here. Two thumbs up guys- great idea! After taking a big large group shot of ALL the guests in front of the Chateaux the guests went inside as Candace and Marcus hung around for some more pics outside before they were introduced with the wedding party down the grand staircase.

Following that they had barbeque buffet dinner with hot links, pulled pork and turkey, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, and baked cinnamon apples. Can you say “mmmm good!” After dinner they mingled with their guests and then cut their cake which was 9 separate layers on its own pedestal. Shaved chocolate, raspberries and fall leaves gave aura that made for a very beautiful fall looking cake. They then started right into their first dance which was “I’ll Always Be Right There” by Brian Adams. Followed was the parents dances where Candace danced with her father and Marcus with his mother. This then opened up the dance floor for guests to enjoy. Later was the bouquet and garter toss and then the money dance.

Jeff and I want to thank Steph and Barry for referring Candace our direction for us to have such a blast documenting Candace and Marcus on their special day together. Also thank you Candace and Marcus for hiring us as your photographers. We had such a fun time and everybody was so nice and welcomed us in and we felt part of the family. If you are ever in the Wichita area you will definitely have to stop in and say hi! And for those that ever go to Denver we highly recommend the Omni Interlocken Resort that we stayed at for our hotel. It was beautiful and had the absolute BEST hospitality EVER that we had experienced!

eXtreme Session!!!!!!

061_mb-ex-0958

On Sunday we got up close to sunrise and headed to Estes Park and did an eXtreme session with Candace and Marcus in the Rocky Mountain National Park. What beautiful backdrops for photos and video. In all we had a good time and captured some amazing stuff. Meadows with mountains in the background, water falls, aspen trees, and 11,796 ft. at the top where the visitors center was located allowed for many great photo opts. Candace and Marcus were quite the troopers and were patient with us as we Kansan folk aren’t used to the altitude. It was all worth it!

Carla & Omero

Carla started her day at Spalon salon to have her hair and make-up done before heading to St. Mary’s Cathedral where the rest of the girls where finishing getting ready. Carla & Omero’s colors were platinum and pink with their ten bridesmaids wearing platinum gowns and carrying beautiful pink bouquets created by Susan’s Flowers. The couple’s daughter Daisy was the junior bridesmaid and wore a pink dress and carried a bouquet of pink gerber daisies.
The nuptial mass was officiated by Fr. Jerome Beat and after he announced the couple husband and wife, a mariachi band played as they exited the sanctuary. The band also played outside while the wedding guests lined the steps to blow bubbles at the couple as the made their way to the limo. After finishing the pictures in the church we headed to the Hyatt for the reception.
When we arrived at the grand eagle ballroom at the Hyatt, we were amazed by how incredible everything looked. There were amazing floral centerpieces by Susan’s, a beautiful cake by Cheri’s Bakery topped with a silver B, pink and platinum draped chairs with contrasting bows and a pink draped wall behind the raised head table. We were so glad that Carla & Omero had planned time for us to take outdoor pictures of them around the Hyatt. We were even able to head back outside for some sunset pictures with them after dinner.
Carla & Omero were announced into the reception by the Los Sandovalls De San Luis band. The band made all the announcements in spanish so were were grateful to one of Carla’s bridesmaids who translated for us. One of the highlights of the reception was the unique way the couple started the bouquet and garter tosses. The single men & women formed “conga” type lines as the couple stood on chairs facing each other a few feet apart and being supported by their parents and maid of honor, Adele. Carla & Omero held a long ribbon that the lines ran under (the women first and then the men) as they made their way around the room and eventually ended surrounding the couple.
Carla & Omero thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your day. After 13 years together, we can only wish you many more happy years as husband and wife.
Thanks again & God Bless,
Brett & Cheryl
P. S. A special thanks to Adele & Drew for recommending us!
