Andrea and Jeff

On August 27th, 2011, Brett and I (Kelly) had the pleasure of photographing Andrea Ferguson’s marriage to Jeff Shultz, here, in Wichita, Kansas.

Andrea’s day started off at Eric Fisher Salon, where she and eight bridesmaids shared mimosa’s and enjoyed strawberries with chocolate and bagels while stylists did their magic and made everyone’s hair look fabulous.

When we got to Calvary United Methodist church, many family members and friends were there to personalize their wedding venue and to set out the day’s programs and favors.

With the help of her many friends, Andrea got her make-up done and put the finishing touches on her look before seeing her handsome husband-to-be prior to the ceremony.

Although Calvary United was lacking in copious amounts of interior light, we were able to find a hallway, somewhat secret and rather secluded, that bore a gang of oversized, fire engine red couches. At the end was an exit and a beautiful source of natural light. JACK POT! Once in her dress, we asked Andrea to join us in this spot away from all of the commotion. She seemed happy to come along because, at that point, her nerves were nearly eating their way out of her stomach before seeing her Jeff.

Here, we were able to relax a little with her, while she put her fashionable, rose-adorn shoes on that matched the style of her dress oh-so-well.

Then it was time for the reveal…

Jeff was very excited to see his bride. Shortly after this image was taken, he hugged her and kissed her hands, smiling all the while. She really seemed to take his breath away; finally a relieving moment.

They had prepared lists of 25 things that they loved most about one another to read to each other before the ceremony, which I found very unique and cool. So, we stepped out and warded off all others while Andrea and Jeff took a moment to themselves on their wedding day to reinforce their decision to get married.

Afterward, we could not resist returning to the red couches one more time.

When the ceremony began, everyone was calm and Jeff waited patiently for his future wife at the end of the isle. (Love this photo that Brett captured the moment he saw Andrea starting down the isle toward him.)

After bubbles, we all headed to Bradley Fair for outdoor pictures with the wedding party. All were jovial and ready to play as they threw back beers and shared champagne from the bottle.

“What do we do?” “Uuuuuh, everyone point at the sky and look up.” Their motto: Business in the front, party in the back… you know, like a mullet. Ha!

Their reception was held at Corporate Caterers east. What a cool venue! The staff was wonderful and the decorations looked great. There, we were able to get some more details from their day while the bride and groom and their guests feasted on wonderful food.

The party continued on into the night with tons of dancing, laughing, and pictures by those that attended.

All-in-all it was a very enjoyable wedding day. Andrea and Jeff Shultz have great family members and friends that obviously love them and support them. It was a hard day’s work payed off to be around such a large group of happy people.
