A sweet text message from the groom, Brandon, to his wife-to-be (at the time), Melissa. How sweet is that guys…

“I like how the solidity of values of each field of this photo make it read more like a black and white image despite such a rich red presence.”

Molly started her day at a salon called Sola Salons around noon with her bridemsaids. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Sola it is a really cool place filled with lots of different individually owned salons inside. What was nice is that all the girls split up and had appointments at different salons inside the same building and all finished about the same time. This might be a great idea for big wedding parties.

1386

After hair was done the ladies headed over to the church where they got in their dresses and make-up applied. Molly’s dress was a Maggie Sottero with swooped taffeta that draped across the bodice. The bridesmaids wore the classic black dresses that they all got to pick out their own designs so they can wear at a later date.

0052

Molly and James had chosen to see each other before-hand and get all the pictures done. We did some pics outside and finished up the formals inside at the front of the sanctuary with family and wedding party.

0411

The ceremony was a candlelight evening (6:30) event. After the ceremony the guests all grabbed bubbles and as the wedding party exited and made their way to the Party Express Bus.

1082

Jeff hopped on the bus as I followed them to Kaupan High School to get some shots of James and Molly coming out of the school. They are High School Sweethearts. After a walk with with them kicking up their heels we were then off to head to the reception which was held at Airport Hilton.

1164

1113

Dinner was a buffet style including a couple of cheese fountains. As soon as the wedding party had their entrance announced by Complete Music Molly and James headed over to the cake table.

1512

The wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous as a four tier, red roses and the letter “T” as their cake topper. The groom’s cake was awesome! It was a miniature scaled version of Fenway Park. Never seen anything like it! Shortly after the cake cutting the toasts began which were preformed by the best man, maid of honor and last but not least the father of the bride.

1662

To follow up the toast by dad Molly and James kicked it up a notch with their first dance. They started out slow and then song scratched and their were about 5 or so songs put together where Molly and James danced to different types of dances all put together. It was very well choreographed. Jeff and I give you a two thumbs up. We have had 2 other bride and grooms choreograph their first dance and it is always is great to watch (document too). The parent dances followed along with the garter and bouquet. The rest of the evening was very relaxed with groomsmen wearing their tennis shoes and Molly her Converse.

We want to thank Molly’s grandma for hiring us and allowing us be a part of Molly and James day. We hope you stay in touch!

2023

On Saturday I headed to Carlee and Preston’s condo where the ladies all got their hair and make-up done and Jeff headed to Augusta where Preston’s parents live to document Preston and his guys get ready. When I arrived at the condo Carlee and bridesmaids were definitely in the girly wedding mood watching the movies “Little Women” and later popped in “The Wedding Planner”. One of Carlee’s friends, Sage, did the hair and they had two Mary Kay ladies come and do make-up. One of the Mary Kay ladies was on her 18th “PINK” car. The ladies all had brunch consisting of sandwiches, muffins, fruit and cookies.

0114

After all the ladies had their hair and make-up done Carlee and good friend, Jacklyn (former bride of ours), went to Accent Bridal where they picked up bridesmaids dresses and Carlee’s wedding dress. Then it was time to head to Friends University where Carlee and Preston met, proposed and now got married in the Davis Hall building (most know it by the “clock tower”). Carlee slipped into her wedding dress. It was a Bella Design that had bead work throughout the dress and down the train and zipped up the back. It had a timeless feel to it and looked very nice on Carlee.

2030

The bridesmaids purple iced violet dresses were T-lenth, strapless with a ribbon that came around the empire waist and made a small bow on the side. The flowers were clutches of violet roses with greenery and went well with the color theme.

0924

The guys all wore purple shirts and green ties with their black tuxes. Carlee and Preston had decided to do pictures before the ceremony and have a private moment where the auditorium was cleared and we documented their WOWS… Preston’s dad had made a prayer bench and inside was a couple of books that Preston gave to Carlee when they saw each other. Preston had them hidden in the Prayer bench. We were able to get some really fun pics outside on Rose Plaza and the University lawn with the couple and the wedding party. After we finished up the family pics we got geared up for the ceremony. They made it very symbolic and had 3 pastors speak along with Preston’s grandfather who had a few words of kindness/wisdom to say as well.

1804
After the ceremony guests pooled together outside of Davis Hall around the stairs and had bubbles that they showered Preston and Carlee with as they made it to the Trolley with the wedding party paired up following behind. Jeff rode on the Trolley with the wedding party and went to the Keeper of the Plains to grab some shots around sunset time.

2017

Guests all went over to the reception hall that was located at Metropolitan Baptist Church and started to eat dinner. When Carlee and Preston arrived at the reception the wedding party made a tunnel for the couple to go through and make their way to the head table where they had plates filled with food for dinner.

1872

Shortly after dinner and being able to visit with some of their guests they cut the cake and the wedding party delivered it to the guests at their tables. The visited with more of their guests and then had their first dance and then left to start their lives as a married couple.

We want to thank you for allowing us to document your special day. You guys were really great to work with and I felt a part of the family of friends having something in common, a Friends University alum. We both felt very welcome all day.

“Nice and organized.”

1395_img_0241

The bridesmaids along with mother of the bride, Jeanne, met at the Mark Bell Salon at an early 7 a.m. to start on hair. Brooke from the MAC Counter came to the salon to do each of the girl’s make-up.

1405_img_0254

After the three sisters were finished with hair and make-up Jeanne took them to the church to finish getting ready as Jeanne went and got the rest of the girls at the salon. The church where the ceremony was later going to take place was held at the Cathedral. Abbey’s dress was classic with innovative style. It had beadwork on the top and throughout the gathered skirting. It was a one-piece, strapless, full A-line gown with a lace-up closure. She wore Delicious brand of shoe which were red in color and open toed. The bridesmaids all wore black dresses with black high heels.

“Caught in the moment”

0462_img_8257

The groomsmen got ready at the Courtyard Marriot Hotel. The groomsmen all wore black tuxes with tan vests. Abbey and Jonas had chosen to see each other before-hand and get all the pictures done.

“Angle and architecture”

1457_img_1332

Once the three ABC sisters (Abbey, Bryna and Courtney) were dressed they were to meet a limo out front of the church. The three sisters along with myself waited a few minutes then called to find out where it was. Even though the limo never showed up it worked out for the best and the father of the bride, Bruce, came and picked up the 3 ladies and myself in a 1957 Chevrolet antique black car with red interior. Absolutely was perfect to get shots of dad chaperone us to an area near the Courtyard Marriot Hotel. This ’57 is Bruce’s baby and mom (Jeanne) hasn’t even been able to drive it yet. I had him pull up on a brick street and we all hopped out of the car except Abbey.

0654_img_1781

We went and got Jonas and their first viewing and private moment was Jonas coming around the corner with a single rose and helping Abbey out of the car. Couldn’t have been cooler and sentimental. After going around old town including walking down to the Farmer’s Market we got shots of the wedding party outside and then headed back to the church. At the church we got shots of the families and then it was time for the ceremony around 2:00.

“Classic shot in many ways… Jonas driving his father-in-law’s 1957 Chevy is key”

0858_img_8648

After the ceremony Abbey and Jonas exited the church through a sea of people and made their way to the ’57 to drive away in “with Jonas driving”. Everybody was then off to the reception which was held at Newman University. Once everybody got to the reception the wedding party had their grand introduction by Ryan Funk with Absolutely Sound DJ Entertainment. The toasts were tear jerkers with both sisters saying something, best man and father of the bride.

“Awww…. aren’t they cute!”

1215_img_8759

Abbey and Jonas then did some of the traditions such as cutting of the cake, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, the tosses (garter and bouquet). They danced their first dance song as husband and wife to Louis Armstrong, “What a Wonderful World”.

“Sometimes things get a little crazy!”

1371_img_1326

“Dancing it off”
1896_img_9176

“I just love this silhouette of the couple.”

2146_img_8957

We really enjoyed working with both families and wish Abbey and Jonas a very long life together. Definitely stay in touch!
