Chris And Kristin

We started the day very early making our way to Huchinson by 6:00 am to meet Kristin at O’Hairas salon where she and her bridesmaids were getting their hair and make-up done. Kristin was so excited that she didn’t need any coffee to stay wide awake despite the early start. When someone asked her why she chose to have a morning wedding, she said it was because brunch was her favorite meal of the day and she wanted to have a brunch reception. While the girls were getting ready, Brett met the guys at Starbucks for breakfast & coffee. Chris was just as excited as Kristin and don’t think he stopped smiling the entire day. Kristin’s aunts and uncle had made and set up a wonderful breakfast buffet for the wedding party and family since they had to be at the church so early for pictures that was very much appreciated by all.

Kristin & Chris chose not to see each other before the ceremony but were able to send their wedding gifts to each other. Kristin’s was a gratitude journal that she had been writing all the reasons she’s grateful for Chris for the last few years. And Chris gave Kristin a large wooden jewelry box with a pair of diamond earrings. As beautiful as they were, it was the rest of the things he put in the box that made it so special – a note, picture and menu from their favorite restaurant.

The wedding was at Emanuel Lutheran Church and it was decorated beautifully with candelabras lining the aisle with two small glass bulbs filled with flowers hanging down and tied with ribbon. As beautiful as everything was from the flowers to the dresses, it was the music that made their ceremony so unique and special. Chris’s sister Jeanne, brother-in-law Michael and their friend Rob were the most incredible musicians with a variety of instruments including the flute, keyboards, acoustic guitar, hammered dulcimer, marimba and bodhran (which is an Irish drum). Instead of the traditional procession, Kristin entered to “Come Thou Fount” b y Sara Groves. But, my most favorites song was when Kristin & Chris lit the unity candle to “I Am” by Nichole Nordeman. (If you have a chance to download this song – you’ll love it – it’s the perfect wedding song!)

After the wedding, we finished taking pictures at the church and then headed to Prairie Dunnes for the reception. The brunch buffet was incredible with the best strawberry cream cheese filled french toast! After the reception, we headed out on the golf course with Chris, Kristin and the wedding party to get some fun, informal shots. Then we headed to Dillon’s nature center with Chris & Kristin to finish up with some pictures of the couple. We were so glad Kristin & Chris took the extra time with us to get some great shots that we wouldn’t have time for if they hadn’t planned it ahead of time. Thank you Kristin & Chris for including us in your day and for making us feel so welcomed. We had a great time documenting your day. We know you’ll have a great time in Hawaii so when you get back and have a chance, you’ll have to send us a link to your brother’s Facebook page so we can check out his pics too. We got a real kick out of his excitement taking pics. We feel the same way when we shoot!

Congrats again & God Bless,
Cheryl & Brett

Erin and the girls started the day at Fringe Salon to get their hair done, then it was off to Von Maur to have their make-up done. Erin and the girls ran by the reception hall at The Ville in Andover to check over the decorations before heading to Eastminister Presbyterian Church to finish getting ready. Erin wore a beautiful necklace she borrowed from The First Place and a pair of earrings Mike had bought for her from there also.

Erin and Michael’s colors were burnt orange and chocolate brown. The flowers were done by Stems and were made up of orange roses and calla lilies. Erin pinned the brooch her mother wore on her wedding dress to the ribbon around her bouquet. The aisle was lined with candelabras decorated with large calla lilies and brown ribbons with white material draped between the candelabras.

The music for the ceremony was incredible with a string quartet and two incredible vocalists. Erin’s two sister’s also played their violins during the lighting of the unity candle. After the wedding, the couple exited the church to a shower of rose petals. Then we headed to Wilson Estates with the couple and wedding party for some outdoor shots despite the cold temps.

Then, we headed to the reception at The Ville. The delicious dinner was catered by Lizzie’s Delights owned by a college friend of Cheryl’s. After dinner, it was time for the toasts by both of Erin’s sisters who were duel maids of honor and Mike’s brother and best man, which were funny, touching, and heartfelt.

Kaylee & Bryce Bergman – November 8, 2008

We met Kaylee and the girls at Fringe Salon where they were getting their hair done and then it was off to the church, Augusta United Methodist Church, where Kaylee had her make-up done by Brooke Cero with MAC cosmetics.  One of the couple’s friends designed their programs and their unique guest book.

Kaylee & Bryce’s colors were black & ivory with burgundy accents.  Kaylee’s bouquet was full of white roses and hydrangeas and the bridesmaids red rose bouquets complimented their black dresses.  Kaylee’s gown was simply elegant and accented in the back with one of her grandmother’s brooches.  The music during the ceremony was beautiful with a string quartet and two of the most wonderful songs, “How Beautiful” and “Grow Old With Me”.

After the ceremony, we headed to a local park in Augusta for a few shots of the couple and wedding party, despite the very chilly temperature, before heading to the Petroleum Club where Denny Desek with Signature DJ introduced the couple into the reception.    The night flew by and everything ran smoothly with the outstanding service at the Petroleum Club.

Kaylee & Bryce, thanks for letting us document your day.  Our wish for you is for the words to John Lennon’s song to come true -  “Grow old with me, for the best is yet to be.”

“The angle of this image is its greatest asset, but I love how a visual line is drawn from the tips of each of her fingers to the connection between her groom and her.”

“Great Kansas Morning Light!”

1943_wg_3952

Jeff and I met up with Karlee and the ladies at Charisma Salon where Karlee works. Karlee swapped rolls and instead of her doing hair she was in the hot seat getting her hair done and make-up applied. Karlee had her her hair swooped over to one side and curled with a flower. Looked very elegant.

“The finishing touch.”

Afterwards we traveled down to Bell Plain where the ceremony would take place. It is definitely worth a day to take and walk around their beautiful place. We had so many different angles to shoot we felt like a kid in a candy store. The lady their, Robin, is so nice and was a so nice to work with. We want to give a special thanks to her for allowing us to use her golf cart to go from one end of the property to the next.

“Outside of the place where Karlee got ready was a old church pew. Thought it was fitting to place the rings on since Mike’s ring is made from wood.”

“Being an outside wedding and all the greenery that surrounded them I thought placing the rings on the plant was fitting as well.”

2061_wg_4143

Karlee and Mike had decided not to see each other so we did as many with Karlee and Mike beforehand without them together. Mike, groomsmen, and ringbearers all looked very stunning in black tuxes, white shirts with skinny black ties with their shoes black/white converse. The ladies all wore fuschia long dresses with different designs. Karlee’s dress had spaghetti straps that went over the shoulders and crisscrossed in the back.

“Outside on the porch of the building where Karlee got ready.”

The ceremony began at 3:30 on a logged stage that sat back into the woods and the meadow was lined with white chairs for their guests to watch. They did time the wedding where everyone was in the shade. After the ceremony we finished up family pics and got some pics of the two of them. The Party Express Bus waited to pick up the wedding party and then it was off to the party held at The Whiskey Creek restaurant in downtown Wichita. They had rented the whole place for the evening. The evening began with ordering what they wanted from the menu then toasts, cake cutting and then rolled right into bouquet/garter and first dances. The groom’s cake looked like a case of Boulevard Wheat Beer.

“The colors and natural light from a near by window work very well together showcasing the cake very well.”

“The quality and treatment of light here transform them into almost two-climentional figures; almost like an Any Warhol painting would. (Very interesting pop art feel.)
